## What the chart shows

About 258,000 AI publications appeared in 2024, up 6.3% from about 243,000 in 2023 and 2.5 times the 102,000 of 2013\. Growth has slowed: output rose 19.7% between 2022 and 2023.

AI’s share of all computer science publications rose from 21.6% in 2013 to 41.8% in 2023 and was 40.9% in 2024.
