## What the chart shows

Counting the full systems around AI chips (servers, cooling and networking), hardware shipped in 2023 and 2024 draws an estimated 9,357 megawatts: 2,561 MW from 2023 and 6,797 MW from 2024.

Nvidia-based systems account for 4,764 MW. The total is more than the national electricity demand of Austria or Switzerland and close to Finland’s ([related chart](https://aiadoption.org/data/ai-power-demand-vs-countries/)).
