## What the chart shows

Hispanic or Latino students took 46,526 AP computer science exams in 2024, 37 times the 1,268 of 2007, and Black students took 18,026, 25 times their 2007 number. Asian students took 75,936, 16 times as many as in 2007.

White students remain the largest group at 89,363, but their count fell 2.0% from 2023 while every other large group grew. Exams taken by Native American and Pacific Islander students also fell, to 590 and 268.

## How to read it

- Exams by students who reported a race or ethnicity. The groups add up to 242,506 in 2024, fewer than the 254,800 exams taken in total.
- Two or more races and Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander first appear in 2016, when the Other category almost disappears, so long-run comparisons for some groups partly reflect the change of categories.
- US students only, as compiled by Code.org.
