## What the chart shows

White students took 35.1% of AP computer science exams in 2024 among students who reported their race or ethnicity, down from 60.8% in 2007\. Asian students’ share was 29.8%, up from 24.4%.

The Hispanic or Latino share rose from 6.7% to 18.3% and the Black share from 3.8% to 7.1%, both the highest in the series. Multiracial students took 4.6%; Native American and Pacific Islander students each took under 0.3%.

## How to read it

- Shares of exams taken by students who reported a race or ethnicity. From 2022 the groups shown add up to only about 95% to 96%.
- Two or more races and Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander are recorded from 2016; before that an Other category of 3% to 4% covered some of these students.
- The report’s chart labels Native American students at 0.00% in 2024; the data file shows 0.23%, which we use.
