## What the chart shows

Filtering for projects with at least 10 stars, a rough proxy for community interest, leaves about 207,000 AI projects in 2025, up 18% from about 175,000 in 2024 and more than triple the 63,000 of 2020.

That is under 4% of the 5.6 million AI projects GitHub counted in 2025 ([related chart](https://aiadoption.org/data/github-ai-projects/)).
