Academia dominates everywhere, producing 51–55% of AI publications in each region. The differences lie elsewhere: industry accounts for 24.5% of US AI publications, against 18.0% in China and 17.1% in Europe.

In China, government institutions produce 25.1% of AI publications, compared with 17.3% in Europe and 11.6% in the US.
