How to read it

  • Installations are new robots put into service in the year, not the total in use; the operational stock is charted separately.
  • The IFR defines an industrial robot as an automatically controlled, reprogrammable, multipurpose manipulator programmable in three or more axes.
  • The IFR revises earlier years, so figures may differ slightly from previous reports. Values are rounded to the nearest thousand.
