What the chart shows
Ipsos asked whether AI will make seven areas of life better. On its global average, the most common expectation is saving time: 56% expect AI to cut the time it takes them to get things done, and half (50.5%) expect better entertainment options. Fewer expect a better economy (36.5%) or job market (33%), and 30.5% expect less disinformation online.
Respondents in the United States are less hopeful than the global average in every area. The gaps are largest for disinformation (17% vs 30.5%) and the job market (20% vs 33%); on their own jobs, 33% of Americans expect an improvement against 40% globally.

How to read it
- Share answering that AI will make each area ‘better’, Ipsos AI Monitor 2025. For disinformation, better means less of it. ‘Global average’ is Ipsos’s average across countries.
- This figure’s own data file has a duplicated column name that hides the area names, so the chart uses the file the AI Index publishes for its job-market chart, which holds the same answers (the global average and China to one more decimal place). The download is that file.
- The AI Index’s chart shows all 31 countries; the companion chart compares the job market and own job by country.
