How to read it

  • Pew Research Center survey of 5,023 US adults, 9–15 June 2025. Answers reflect when respondents believe they are interacting with AI, so they may undercount AI built into other systems such as navigation or recommendations.
  • ‘Less often’ and non-responses are not in the data file, so bars do not reach 100%. ‘Asian’ covers English-speaking respondents only; White, Black and Asian adults are non-Hispanic, and Hispanic adults may be of any race.
