Turn your findings into slides and visuals with AI
From findings to a clear deck, with the numbers still right.

For: Anyone presenting work they did themselves
What the evidence says
Studied directly. Studies look at this task or something very close to it.
- Slides with AI: not enough evidence yet (evidence strength 1 of 5)
- AI in creative and design work: not enough evidence yet (evidence strength 0 of 5)
Almost nothing tests business slides. In one very small government test, six people, Copilot users were faster but their slides scored lower on quality and accuracy.
This workflow itself is our recommended way of working, not a tested method. Studies searched to 2 November 2026.
Before you start
- Have your findings in writing, with the source of each number.
- Keep to your organisation's template and rules on confidential data.
- Check image rights before using any picture in public, and label AI images where your audience would expect it.
The steps
Replace the words in square brackets with your own. Stay in the same chat for the next prompt, unless a step says otherwise.
- YouWrite the one thing the audience must remember, and what you want them to do.
- AIAsk for a storyline before any slides.
I'm presenting to [audience] for [minutes] minutes. They must remember: [one thing]. I want them to [action]. My findings, with sources: [paste] Give me a storyline with one slide per line. Each slide's title should be a full sentence stating its point. Use only my findings, and mark any slide that has no support in them. Tell me if my findings don't support what they must remember or what I want them to do.
- YouFix the story until it runs in the order you would say it.
- AIAsk for layouts and charts. Tell it which numbers to use, and keep your original data beside you.
For each slide, suggest one simple layout and at most one chart, saying what is on each axis and why this chart type fits. Use these exact numbers: [paste]. Do not round or estimate, and do not bring in new numbers. Tell me if any numbers don't add up.
- YouBuild it in your template, then rehearse it once aloud.
How to catch its mistakes
- Compare every number on every slide with your source. AI slide tools can quietly change or invent figures.
- Chart axes start where they should and the bars match the numbers.
- No slide says more than your findings support.
- You can explain any slide without reading it.
When not to use this
- Investor, regulatory or public material, unless someone else checks every figure.
- You haven't done the work and are presenting AI's findings as your own.
Tools
A general AI assistant, or the one built into your slide software. Examples: ChatGPT, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot. We chose these because they are common in workplace software, not because they are the best. We leave out Claude products as examples, because we draft this site with Claude. AI assistants compared has them all, with dated facts. Use whichever your employer has approved. The steps work with any tool of this type. We take no money from AI companies.
Find out if it works for you
People often misjudge how much AI helps them. Try this on your next 10 similar tasks, letting a coin flip decide which ones use AI. What to measure: Minutes to a finished deck, and number errors found by a second reader. Your results stay in your browser. Start the self-test →
If you manage people
Ask for fewer slides, not more. A faster deck that no one reads saves nothing.

Before publishing, we ran its prompts once on made-up samples with a second AI model, also from Anthropic. That is a check on the wording, not a test of whether the workflow works for you.
