9,357 MW
estimated power demand of complete AI systems shipped in 2023–2024, above the national demand of Austria (7.2 GW) or Finland (9.0 GW)
What the chart shows
Counting the full systems around AI chips (servers, cooling and networking), hardware shipped in 2023 and 2024 draws an estimated 9,357 megawatts: 2,561 MW from 2023 and 6,797 MW from 2024.
Nvidia-based systems account for 4,764 MW. The total is more than the national electricity demand of Austria or Switzerland and close to Finland’s (related chart).
